Set in a fantastical version of New York City known as Cursed Apple, the game features a unique blend of steampunk aesthetics and magical elements, creating a rich and immersive environment for players. In Deadlock, two teams of six players each engage in intense 6v6 battles, where they assume the roles of various heroes, each equipped with distinct abilities and weapons. The primary objective is to defeat the opposing team's Patron, a colossal golem that serves as the game's equivalent of a nexus or ancient structure found in other MOBAs. This objective-driven gameplay encourages teamwork and strategic planning, as players must navigate through lanes filled with defensive structures and enemy minions known as Troopers. The gameplay mechanics in Deadlock are reminiscent of traditional MOBA titles but are presented through a dynamic third-person perspective. Players must farm experience and currency—referred to as Souls—by defeating enemy heroes and minions. These Souls can be used to upgrade abilities and purchase items that enhance each hero's unique skill set.
