Buraco is a card game well known worldwide by different names and is very popular in Brazil and Italy.
The objective of the game is to score many points by getting rid of sequences or combinations.
The deck consists of two standard international 52-card packs with 4 jokers ,total 108 cards in all. The 4 jokers and the 8 twos are used as wildcards. A wildcard may take the place of any card in a meld. Each meld may contain at most one wildcard. Playing two or more wild cards in a single meld is not allowed.
To begin the game, team members sit opposite to each other. It's played with 2 to 4 players online. The objective is to form melds which may be sets of equal cards or sequences of consecutive cards in a suit and place them face up on the table. Each meld (set or sequence) must contain at least three cards. You may extend your own team’s melds. At most one wildcard (two or joker) may be included in a set, so the maximum number of cards in a set is nine.
Each player may have only one group of any given rank. It is possible for one team to have two separate sequence melds in the same suit, but sequences once placed on the table cannot be joined together or split.
Groups or runs consisting of seven or more cards are called Burraco. These runs earn the player extra points and are required for a player to be allowed to go out. Buraco containing wildcards are known as dirty Buraco and those with no wildcards are clean Buraco. Clean Buracos are worth more points than dirty Buracos when calculating the final score. Clean Buracos can be made dirty by adding a wildcard to them, this lowers the score value of the Burraco but may be required to clear the players hand to go out in some cases.
The first player who gets rid of the last card from his or her hand picks up & takes the first pozzetto of 11 cards to use as a new hand.
Remember that if the opponent or the opposing pair closes the deal while you still have cards in hand, their value calculated according to the table will be subtracted from the accumulated points. Choose your best strategy to defeat your opponents.
